Our Mission
Our mission is to empower students to embrace their brilliance and realize a future of STEM leadership that is as diverse as the world we live in.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build communities of empowered women in STEM on college campuses who promote confidence, respect and exposure to STEM in local elementary schools.
Our Values
Bold Leadership
Be ambitious, courageous and take your seat at the table. Be confident in your abilities and trust your team. Be discontent with business as usual and speak up. Recognize the uncomfortable and unsatisfying aspects of your role and take action to make improvements for future generations. Strive for authenticity over perfection.
Kindness in Action
Never miss an opportunity to show someone kindness and view all situations with empathy.
Excellence
Expect excellence, deliver excellence. Create high quality curriculum and content, invest in your training, and see to it that you are proud of your work.
Your Voice Matters
Every voice is valuable and we encourage our team to share opinions, concerns and ideas. No contribution is too small or insignificant. Be unafraid to give feedback and request feedback.
Intersectional Empowerment
We were founded with the intention of empowering women in STEM to believe that they are brilliant and their potential is boundless. Our presentations are delivered to classrooms of boys and girls because equity in STEM leadership will only be achieved when all genders are invested. Although we are focused on gender, we embrace the intersections between race, ethnicity, class, and religion.
Ownership
As a new organization, recognize that you play a major role in shaping what this organization is and will become. Take pride in your work, take initiative with your team, and take your responsibilities seriously. Our progress is your progress. Our accomplishments are yours. Our challenges are yours. Step up and keep stepping up.
Accomplish More With Less
Create a high impact while being mindful of your resources. Think creatively, be flexible, and accomplish more with less.
Dismantle Stereotypes
Encourage women to be unafraid of being bossy and self-assured. Encourage men to be unafraid of compassion and patience. Unapologetically reject norms and expectations. Reclaim the terms that have been historically negatively used against your gender.
Inexperience is an Asset
We view inexperience as an opportunity for growth. We will meet our challenges together with hard work, open communication, diligent research and an eagerness to learn.
Intentional Community Building
Recognize that earning trust takes time and commitment. Prioritize building meaningful relationships with community partners, staff, volunteers and mentors.
“Don’t let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity.”
