STEM Education For Special Needs Students Initiative

Are you the parent or guardian of a child who is neurodiverse or has mental/learning disabilities?

If so, we would love to hear from you and hope that you would consider participating in our upcoming Focus Group. We would like to learn more about how your child is able to access science/STEM education, whether or not you find it adequate, and about any perceived challenges that you’ve found make it difficult for your child to engage with and understand these lessons.

Boundless Brilliance has recently launched an initiative that is focused on developing quality and impactful supplemental STEM curriculum for Special Needs students. This initiative aligns with our goal of helping to ensure that STEM becomes more accessible and inclusive.

You can access the SURVEY for our Focus Group here.

If you have any questions, please contact us at info@boundlessbrilliance.org

Boundless Brilliance Joins Legacy Los Angeles's Invest in Youth Coalition

Boundless Brilliance is proud to be a Signing Partner of the Invest in Youth Coalition.

The Invest in Youth Coalition is advocating for not simply any investment, but we demand an equitable investment— one where every community will receive specific investments based on factors like poverty level, education, and the existing nonprofit services.

Boundless Brilliance Welcomes Machiko Yasuda to The Advisory Council

Machiko Yasuda is a software engineer at Compiler, a small, woman-owned software consultancy that helps government agencies build open source, human-centered, and secure solutions to support the delivery of services like public transportation. She’s been involved in connecting people in LA to their environment in various ways, from teaching confident city cycling to co-organizing free coding meetup events, where she has taught people how to use code and geography tools to learn more about their neighborhood.

She is active in park, public lands, and complete streets advocacy thanks to Nature for All’s Leadership Development program in El Monte, and has served on the National Park Conservation Association's LA Young Leaders Council. She is also an American Hiking Society NextGen Trail Leader. A former journalist turned software engineer, she is passionate about increasing access to STEM fields and public service for underrepresented youth.

You can learn even more about Machiko by checking out her interview on the Boundless Brilliance YouTube channel.

We established our Advisory Council as a means to ensure that our materials and programming are relevant and reflect the diversity of the communities that we serve.

Advisory Council members will have an opportunity to contribute their expertise and skills to assist Boundless Brilliance with expansion and sustainability. To learn more about our Advisory Council, contact us at info@boundlessbrilliance.org

Volunteer Highlight: Adriana Tatum

Adriana Tatum (she/her) graduated from Occidental College in 2021 with a major in biology. In the future, she hopes to become a dentist. Adriana has volunteered with Boundless Brilliance for five years! She first got involved with BB as a member of the presentations team while she was a student at Oxy. Once everything transitioned online due to the pandemic, she began leading Instagram live streams. However, since August of 2020, Adriana has been creating science videos for the Boundless Brilliance YouTube channel. Her background in biology and her natural talent for creative and playful thinking make her the perfect addition to our team!
