5 Years & Ready to Grow | June 2022 Newsletter

5 for 5 Campaign: 5 Years & Ready to Grow!

2022 marks our 5th year of operations and service to the community, and we were excited to receive a Commendation from Los Angeles County Board Supervisor Hilda Solis. We are thankful for this recognition.

We are looking forward to even more growth and would like to ask for your support.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: You can contribute with as little as $5, or if you are able to, we are asking for any amount in denominations of 5: $5, $15, $50, and so on.

These days $5 doesn’t get you much, not even a gallon of gas, but it will still allow you to invest in our collective future, where we will need a fully capable STEM workforce.

Please contribute what you can and assist us by sharing the LINK to the campaign near and far.

Congratulations to the 2022 Graduates

We would like to congratulate the graduating class of 2022! Especially the graduating seniors in our Boundless Brilliance chapters, many of whom have been involved with our organization since their freshmen year.

They have helped to shape the organization, develop and improve programs, and create new resources, and have sparked ideas for new projects, helping to ensure that we are living up to our mission.

We are thankful for their support and proud of what they've achieved, and are excited about what they will be able to contribute to the field of STEM and our communities next.

We welcome them into the Boundless Brilliance Alumni Association.

Our Feature in The Arizona Informant

We are honored to be featured in the 50th Anniversary of The Arizona Informant, founded in 1969 by Senator Cloves Campbell, Sr., who was disappointed for many years that the Arizona news media did not cover the accomplishments and activities of the African American community.

Our feature highlights our collaboration with and funding support from Intel and YWCA Arizona through their Equity in STEAM Initiative.

Volunteer Highlight: Felicite Shulkin

We would like to introduce you to Felicite Shulkin.

Coming from a family that includes women in STEM fields, entrepreneurs, and creatives, Felicite was enamored and inspired by the literary world at a young age. The ability to write stayed with her and fueled her passions. She took her time finding her passions and opened her heart to movements she was inspired by. This motivated her to pursue education in a field that inspired her and a career that excited her. It also motivated her to find and become a part of nonprofits that she was passionate about, believing that being an active participant, even in small changes, will benefit the cause and create a better future.

Felicite is a communication studies major at California State University, Los Angeles. Joining Boundless Brilliance as a volunteer in March, she began putting her skills to good use. In addition to creating content for social media, she began looking into ideas to expand Boundless Brilliance's presence on TikTok, created connections with women in STEM fields for interviews, and is co-writing a white paper about the pitfalls that lead to gender inequality in STEM fields. She looks forward to continuing these collaborations and making a difference with hopes that it will create a better, kinder, and happier future.
