Back to School With Boundless Brilliance | September 2022

Back to School

The smell of pumpkin spice is in the air, signaling that it’s time for students to go back to school. It’s an exciting time for Boundless Brilliance, as we’ve spent the summer preparing for the fall semester. We’ll be back in classrooms delivering our fun, engaging, and educational hands-on STEM workshops for students grades kindergarten-6th.

Check out our YouTube page for examples of our energizing activities. We provide supplies lists so you can follow along and do them at home!

Boundless Brilliance Welcomes a New Director of Programs & Curriculum

Katie Wolber started working with Boundless Brilliance in May of 2020. She originally joined as a presenter, and was excited about the goal of empowering young women to believe that they can do anything they put their minds to. In August of 2020, Katie began creating videos for the Boundless Brilliance YouTube Channel. As of July 2022, she stepped into the role of Director of Programs and Curriculum for Boundless Brilliance. She manages volunteers, supports our college chapters, and oversees our social media and website, as well as many other tasks! Learn more about Katie’s previous role in the video below.

Katie is a recent graduate of Occidental College and plans to pursue a master’s in secondary education. She served as a virtual teaching assistant for a 9th grade English class at a high school in Denver, as well as an in-person teaching assistant for multiple classes at a school in Vienna, Austria. Katie loves working with students and empowering them to pursue their passions, and has found a passion for video creation and sharing these empowering messages with young girls. While with Boundless Brilliance as the social content manager, she learned how to lead a team and manage volunteers. She is excited to continue growing Boundless Brilliance and sharing BB’s message and resources with the world!

Volunteer Highlight: Professor Chrissie Lee

Chrissie Lee is an Adjunct Professor of Biology at Orange Coast College with research experience in academia, government, and private industry. Her passion for science and education led her to Boundless Brilliance in the beginning of 2022, where she currently searches for grant opportunities and helps with grant writing. She believes science should be for everyone, and has confidence that her work with Boundless Brilliance will lead to a more equitable world for her own children.

We have a wide array of volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering with Boundless Brilliance, contact us at info@boundlessbrilliance.org

Feedback Needed! STEM Education For Special Needs Students Initiative

Are you the parent or guardian of a child who is neurodiverse or has mental/learning disabilities?

If so, we would love to hear from you, and hope that you will consider participating in our upcoming Focus Group. We would like to learn more about how your child is able to access science/STEM education, whether or not you find it adequate, and if there are any perceived challenges you have found that make it difficult for them to engage with and understand these lessons.

Boundless Brilliance has recently launched an initiative that is focused on developing quality and impactful supplemental STEM curriculum for Special Needs students. This initiative aligns with our goal of helping to ensure that STEM becomes more accessible and inclusive.

You can access the SURVEY for our Focus Group HERE.

If you have any questions, please contact us at info@boundlessbrilliance.org
